Latinas En Bici's Biciescuela (Bike School)

Biciescuela (bike school) is a 4 week course aimed at teaching Latinas basic bike skills, like learning to ride, rules of the road, minor bike repair, bike safety, and more.

Your generous gift will provide a Latina student with a hands-on learning experience in a space that is comfortable, welcoming, and safe for her so she can enjoy all the physical and mental health benefits that cycling offers!

Once this project is fully funded, we can:

• Meet with our current Latinx leaders to select which of our certified instructors will lead the classes.
• Create a standard operating procedure/manual covering; safety, course content, familiarization and follow-up.
• Further promote our project through social media and word of mouth to reach our target audience.
• Secure an open space away from any external dangers such as vehicles, other cyclists, trail walkers/runners, etc.
• Provide snacks, bikes, helmets, and hydration for participants. 

Our goal is to educate & empower Latinx women in cycling—whether they have NEVER ridden a bike, or just haven't found a space that is safe and welcoming for them to enjoy it.

Latinas En Bici helps Latinas build confidence as cyclists, breaking the barriers within the Latinx community regarding physical fitness and outdoor recreation.
