the project

Our mission is to replace 44 lamp posts located on our property.  They are made of cedar and have very old metal carriage type heads.  They are in very poor condition and do not provide adequate lighting throughout the site. With the money we raise, we will replace the lamp posts with an updated style, aluminum post and head and also upgrade the lighting to LED, a brighter, more energy efficient bulb than what is currently there.

the steps

Once we have the money raised, we will purchase all of the supplies, choose a contractor and meet with our electrician.  We hope to have the project started and completed before summer's end.

why we're doing it

Our two housing complexes are home to both elderly and disabled residents who love their community.  The lamp posts that light the walkways need replacing desperately!  They are leaning, the bases are rotting and the heads are falling off!  We have repaired them many times along the way, but they look terrible and don't light the walkways all that well.

We want to replace them with with bright, new LED lights and aluminum bases that will not rot and will definitely improve the overall look.  Many of our residents take regular walks and walk their dogs, so this would be a huge help.

No donation is too small, $3 can buy an LED bulb, $50 can buy a lamp post head, $350 can buy the post.  Please donate to help a great cause and help us "Light the Way"!

budget

We have 44 wooden lamp posts that are rotting at the base and the heads are falling off! To replace these, it will cost about $1140 per post, which will include aluminum posts and heads, concrete bases and LED bulbs.
