the project

This spring-summer project will serve as an outdoor enrichment for children in Staten Island Chinese community, and those who are interested in Chinese culture. We will have a series of activities that involves crafty hands and exercises for the whole body. We will hire professional Chinese art teachers and professional Kung Fu teachers to lead the group. The activities would center on two themes: Kite and Chinese martial arts

the steps

1. End of April: Buy the craft supplies that are required for the events

2. Mid May: Art and Kung Fu teacher identified

3. Early June: Student recruiting starts; promotional materials made

4. End of June: Event Series kick off

5. End of August: Summer event ends

why we're doing it

We would like to increase outdoor wellness in the Chinese community, which suffered a lot of pressure at home during the anti-Asian and pandemic years.
