the project

A Courageous Voice's goal is to keep kids safe on and off line using prevention education for children in schools, those who work with youth, families, and with our Safety Zone Teen Youth Group.

A Courageous Voice needs to purchase the Kindergarten through 8th grade curriculum that focuses on child safety both on and off line. We want to empower children to have appropriate tools using an evidence-based, comprehensive curriculum that can keep them safe. There are over 500,000 predators online every day seeking vulnerable children, so there is an enormous need to have this curriculum available.  A trained facilitator will have two lessons that focus on 5 safety rules that are easy to remember and user friendly for kids to use ever day such as: Spot red Flags, Talk It Up, No Shame/No Blame, Make A Move and Know Whats Up. Our Cyber Safety Boxes will be provided to children that will contain tangible tools to give children extra support to stay safe, including valuable information for parents.

Our Safety Zone Teen Youth Group is in need of laptops/ChromeBooks, program supplies and food. They meet one day a week where A Courageous Voice provides our teens with information and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, all types of abuse, relationship abuse, and digital dangers. The monthly dinner is a youth led project where they have a digital free zone where healthy conversations are promoted and they can connect with one another. Each teen takes on a task such as being the organizer, cooking, cleaning, or setting the table. A Courageous Voice provides a hot meal every Monday night, with their youth-led monthly meal occurring the last Monday of every month.

why we're doing it

Our projects work to solve the issues around child sex abuse, trafficking, bullying and digital dangers that are continuing to increase every year, especially during the pandemic. A Courageous Voice seeks to raise awareness and provide prevention education, increasing their chances to have a safer and brighter future.
