About the project

Juneteenth in Detroit has the power to gather and unite all Metro Detroit residents to celebrate themselves righteously.  We look forward to a positive productive Festival where our local business owners and entrepreneurs are able to benefit from the celebration of our community.  We are taking steps in making sure we have an authentic cultural appreciation with each day.  The Week Of Us!! Its a historic time and we are here for it!

The Steps

We have agreements in place with a iability insurance company, porta potty rentals and the stage/sound company.  The moment we have funding we will then turn over all deposits and balances owed to these companies in order to have the festival look and sound the way it should.

Why we‘re doing it

Unfortunately in our community it is an epidemic that when large groups gather and alcohol is involved, tensions flare and violence erupts.  Juneteenth in Detroit is a family friendly event where each day focuses on lifting up our children and celebrating their talents alcohol and drugs of any kind are strictly prohibited for a decade our community's children have been able to witness adults in their families having good clean fun celebrating one another and supporting each other's businesses.  We believe this is how we will strengthen our community for generations to come
