THE JUKE JOINT PROJECT:  AN EXHIBIT   IT'S SO COOL!

The Music Education Initiative was honored to receive this life-size, walk-through replica of a Delta Blues juke joint from the Clinton Presidential Center.  This unique situation created an opportunity for The Music Education Initiative to bring this cultural and educational experience to Northwest Arkansas and increase the community's exposure and access to the arts in exciting new ways!  The exhibit was designed by Kaki Hockersmith, a highly respected and renowned interior designer from Little Rock, AR.  Ultimately bringing this replica of a Delta juke joint to Northwest Arkansas is meant to make a difference in the lives of those that may never get a chance to know about a juke joint, the music of the Delta or its groundbreaking artists.

As custodians and curators of this cultural enrichment showpiece, we will continue to activate the Juke Joint Porject with content to engage and encourage our community with:  LIVE music, as a teaching/educational tool, a meeting place, a place for lectures, films, performances and guest speakers to share experiences; with programming developed for the conservation, historical preservation, interpretation, history, perspective and understanding of the Delta Blues (the root), Gospel, Soul, and Jazz (the contemporary) music, and their importance and influence on society.  We will maintain collaborating with others to engage and educate the general public while providing cultural enrichment, educational content and inspiration to the Northwest Arkansas region.
