About the project
Children will learn the basics of storytelling and filmmaking - from concept to screen - and they will work in groups to produce a short film based on a story that they will write all together.
Using simple camera gear and editing software, each child will get to experience all the different aspects of a film production, from acting to set decoration, from shooting to editing while working as a team.
The Steps
- Raise $550 to buy 2 Point and Shoot Cameras and other art direction supplies.
- Purchase cameras.
- Children will learn the structure of a good story.
- They will come up with their own.
- They will learn the basics about shooting a film.
- They will work as a team to shoot and edit a short film based on their idea.
- A screening will follow at the end of the 10 session cycle.
Why we‘re doing it
The Film Club will offer children an opportunity to express their creativity, while learning how to work together to realize the same goal.
