At the same time restaurants everywhere have been forced to drastically curtail their operations amid widespread social distancing guidelines. In this backdrop, a few national charitable organizations have been set up in places like Boston, New York, and Los Angeles to help support the needs of both healthcare workers and restaurants alike. Now it's Biddeford's turn. Introducing Hungry Healthcare.

The premise is straightforward. Tax-deductible cash donations given to Hungry Healthcare are sent to local restaurants who use these proceeds to prepare meals for front-line healthcare workers. Hungry Healthcare then works with local hospitals to deliver these meals while ensuring sanitation and distancing guidelines are met. Healthcare workers get hot, nutritious meals, and restaurants get revenue to support their ongoing operations and employees.
