About the project

BEING THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE because of the 'HopScotch Blues'.

For Lincoln Terrace Park residents, the 'HopScotch Blues' is when you have to hop & dodge the poop droppings on the sidewalk, paths and grass on your way to and from work (especially on rainy or snowy days).

LTPA is working to raise funds to incorporate a 'dog waste system' in and around Lincoln Terrace Park in Brooklyn, NY.  This community service project brings together pet owners, non-pet owners and groups from different backgrounds and cultures for the benefits of:

  • Pet happiness
  • Reinforcing good social behavior patterns for our pets
  • Improved health for our families and pet
  • Environmental cleanup
  • And the unseen benefit of reducing the carbon footprint for our area

It is also about us - working together for a common cause.  This is our first 'fundraising' campaign.  We are so 'Grateful' to be working with IOBY <3

Let's be the change we want to see for our neighborhood park, Lincoln Terrace Park!

The Steps

  • Contact the PARKS DEPARTMENT while RAISING FUNDS!
  • Post Flyers while RAISING FUNDS!
  • Campaign on foot while RAISING FUNDS!
  • Be visible at site while RAISING FUNDS!
  • Purchase placard signs with dog waste bag dispenser and waste bags (after RAISING campaign funds)
  • Educate public about 'next steps' after RAISING campaign funds!

Why we‘re doing it

  • To get rid of the morning and evening 'HopScotch Blues'
  • Clean up the park, environment & the sidewalks & lower the carbon footprint (at least where we live)
  • Create a 'dogs are community too' atmosphere
  • Create a friendly conversation between pet owners / non-pet owners
  • Educate park users about the idea behind 'safe spaces' for dogs in the community & 'safe spaces' around park-goer activity space
  • Initiate the 'Next Step' in finding a better space or improving the existing space for a dog walk / run in or near our park

We can solve these problems together through this simple and convenient solution. Help us keep the streets and sidewalks clean and our tree beds healthy!
