Hello! One of the many ways in which the Parent Teacher Organization of Sunrise Montessori Academy carries out our mission of building and supporting our school community is to provide ways for our children, their families, and friends to show appreciation for the school’s teachers and staff for their continual hard work and dedication to teaching. Our organization accomplishes this goal by honoring the school's teachers and staff in various ways throughout the entire school year.
Our largest display of teacher appreciation this year will occur May 6th through May 10th, 2019 during Teacher Appreciation Week. In order to make this week of events a success, we are asking community members for help because our teachers truly deserve to have their efforts recognized in a special way. We hope that you will consider supporting our efforts. Any support would also greatly help decrease the burden on the families of our students, as we have relied solely on their generous contributions in the past.
May we count on your tax-deductible contribution? Every little bit helps! In return for your generosity, you will receive acknowledgment and a warm thank you for your much needed donation on social media, and in our PTO newsletter, which will reach the families of all students enrolled in our school.
We hope that you are able to offer your support. It will be greatly appreciated. Because of your generosity, we will be able to honor our superhero teachers for their hard work and personal sacrifices that they make every day to educate, innovate, encourage, and support our precious children.

Since our event is being held during the first full week of May, we would appreciate it if all donations are made by the first week of April. This would allow us to make any adjustments to the planning and scheduling of the week's events if necessary.
Order / purchase all supplies and non-perishables.
Secure vendors (if not already done) and confirm scheduling.
Recruit parent volunteers for the week's events.
Construction / making of event decorations, props, and handmade gifts.
Order and / or purchase of food.
May 6th through May 10th: Our magical Teacher Appreciation Week occurs with the assistance and contributions of so many thoughtful people.
why we're doing it
Teachers all over the world are so often overworked, undervalued, and underpaid. We would like to help boost teacher and staff morale by showing them how much we appreciate what they do day in and day out for our children. These wonderful individuals are helping us give our children the best start in life, and we as parents, families, and the surrounding community owe them our deepest gratitude, not only during Teacher Appreciation Week, but every day of the year.

$400 - On-Site Chair Massage; two therapists providing 10 minute massages to teachers and staff
