the project
As a child in an underprivileged household, participating in community shows, art projects, holiday parties, etc., was not a financial possibility. This year's Holiday SLAMtacular is dedicated to giving back to those who are underprivileged and have not had the opportunity to celebrate the holidays in style. Through this event, we will welcome families who need support, provide a platform for local artists to share their talent and connect with the community, and support and provide a platform for local vendors to come together to support the underprivileged. We will provide entertainment, food, games, fun, and so much more! Our goal is to give the community a chance to experience the fun and long-lasting memories of the holidays that we were not able to.

In preparation for December 10, 2022, Holiday SLAMtacular, we will have the following timeline:
- 06/2022: Secure hall/facility
- 06/2022: Begin publicity
- 07/2022: Secure staff
- 08/2022: Secure artists
- 09/2022: Secure vendors
- 10/2022: Guest Invitations
- 11/2022: Close guest list
- 11/2022: Order favors, memorabilia, finalize details
- 12/10/2022: Holiday SLAMtacular
why we're doing it
Growing up as an orphaned foster child in Sacramento, I did not have the opportunity to experience some of life's most incredible childhood memories, such as training in dance classes, exploring my passion for the arts, being a part of community art showcases, being a member of a community, being invited to, or attending holiday parties, etc. In creating SLAM, our mission has always been to give back and foster belief in the underprivileged youth and struggling artists in our community and introduce them to the possibilities. We want to expose them to things their current situation does not allow them to afford and help steer them to a path of positivity, passion, and excellence. The Holiday SLAMtacular is one pathway we will use to help turn dreams into reality.
