His Place Community Center's Growing Together Community Development Team

Help His Place, and the children and families we serve, keep growing together as a community!

About the project

Over the past three years, His Place has grown from serving 10 children at one afterschool location to serving more than 1 out of every 4 students at Spring Hill Elementary School and beginning an afterschool program at Schiller Middle School. His Place's Bible Clubs have also grown over the past three years, as have our ties to families in our community.

Our dream is to continue growing our outreach programs throughout our community. The first step in this vision is the creation of a development team composed of His Place staff members on the ground who know the needs of our community and have built strong relationships with these families.

The Steps

  • Identify key staff members to join our community-based development team.
  • Create an action plan based on community needs and assets.
  • Secure funding for key outreach programs and continued funding for the sustainability of our development team.

Why we‘re doing it

Our community-based development team will tackle critical issues that affect the lives of children and their families in our community. These issues include poverty, educational disparities, adverse childhood experiences, physical and mental health disparities, and substance abuse.
