Michigan Urban Farming Initiative is acting as a fiduciary on this project as they have a mission to help stabilize the North End Community and help those in need.  

There's never an ideal time for tragedy, but right around the holidays is like the worst thing imaginable.  When their is a fire such as this it tears at the fabric of the community and the community can not be whole.  

The household of Erica Nevers and her three daughters (ages 5, 14, and 15) on Delmar between Westminster and Owen just caught fire (due to problems w the knob & tube wiring) and the family has lost everything. 

As a community we spend so much time, money, and energy talking about inclusive development and the importance of ensuring that everyone is able to be a part of the great comeback, but are rarely given the opportunity to so directly affect an existing resident's sustained participation/continued existence in a neighborhood that's on the up and up; HERE is YOUR CHANCE to really practice what you preach and help a family in need find a much needed holiday miracle!!  Help make this community whole again.
