About the project
My name is Prostell Thomas III, I am a Native Detroiter and I come from a family with a history of mental illness. Sometimes this looks a debilitating depression that we quietly carry around from day to day. At times it is PTSD from the kinds of tragic events that never we don't know how to talk about. Still others it is a explosive potentially violent bipolar schizophrenic episode, that leaves loved ones paralyzed and clueless as to what to do.
Once I started to have these conversations, and look around I quickly realized I was not alone. That we were not the only family trapped in a maze of a lack of resources and understanding. Also we were not the only one NEEDING to do something about it. And thats how this event/movement was born.

Why we‘re doing it
25 years ago, The State of Michigan shuttered its State Run Mental Health facilities. Budgets for Emergency services for Mental Health were slashed and are at historic lows. All while the causes and predictors of mental health are at an all time high. Someone has to do something at some point. That someone is Us. That time is Now. Join us.
