the project

The Hair Cabinet is a U.S. Patent and Trademarked haircare index app that provides valuable information on product safety at your fingertips. From your phone and computer, you can contact the manufacturer electronically to retrieve lot/product information, date of manufacturer, etc., and determine from a database an approximate product expiration date, interaction dangers, carcinogen content, and any legal actions involving class action lawsuits linked to that product, through an alert system for consumers.

This idea was inspired by the Inventor who herself has had both a reproductive cancer and who currently has a plasma cell cancer. In her inner circle she has more than several close friends and relatives that have been diagnosed with alopecia or cancer.

"There is research that goes back to the early 90's that suggest that these products may also be linked to Multiple Myeloma and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma," (Dr. McDonald), as researched and reported by the American Journal of Health.  Use of hair coloring products and the risk of lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia - PubMed (nih.gov) Disclaimer: This information is provided by the National Institute of Health.

"It is unsettling enough to know that infant mortality rates are considerably higher in low-income, and predominantly black communities; but even more so, cancer causing agents in these chemicals are interfering with or obliterating our ability to reproduce." (Dr. McDonald).

the steps

1. Build a team of Chemical Engineers, Legal/Medical Researchers, Beta testers, Beauticians and Barbers, Project Managers, Developers, Attorney's, and Administrative Staff

2. Build a list of products and manufacturers to begin building an index of consumer products

3. Build and organize a list of manufacturers for the products listed in step #2

4. Build out product ingredient list and work with Chemical Engineers, Dermatologists, Gynecologists, Oncologists, and other Physicians to become better educated on the product chemicals, ingredients, and harmful agents and toxins. Also connect with Attorney's and their Clients for information gathering.

5. Build a list of retailers Phase I to participate in App development. This includes: 1) Inventory of hair products a) product shelf life, b) product lot number upload into app, c) developing retail partnerships and healthy hair, healthy body campaigns

6. Initiate surveys with a population and sample population of cancer patients, patients with Alopecia and others who may have been harmed by these agents and also those who still use chemical agents for a better census.

7. Prepare 1-6 for Beta Testing

8. Repeat steps 1-7 until completion

9. Organize for reevaluation.
