Growing Events at the Garden
Besides booking acts that help celebrate our neighborhood's multicultural diversity, we would like to bring some of our many local talents to our beautiful garden space.

About the project
For the past three years, the East Fourth Street Community Garden's volunteers have worked hard to develop an ambitious special events calendar that serves the entire community. We take special pride in reaching out to our many immigrant neighbors and would like to make our programming even bigger, better, and more inclusive in 2017.
The Steps
Anticipated programming in spring 2017 would include a return of the taiko drummers, a Bangladeshi rock concert, and a hula performance. We'd also use grant money to make sure we reach as many people as possible to let them know about the events, including posting all-weather banners on our garden gates.
Why we‘re doing it
Our neighborhood is very diverse—it's something that makes our neighborhood so wonderful!—and one of the garden's goals is to make the events we host more inclusive of everyone in our community. We want it to be a truly welcoming space to people of all ages, incomes, and backgrounds.
