Beginning Nov 2, 2014, we will light up Miami's Metrorail north of Vizcaya station. 100,000 drivers on US1 pass that station each day, giving us a chance to showcase transit as an option to being stuck in traffic.

On November 2, 2014, Friends of the Greenlink wants to light up the area/land underneath Miami's Metrorail north of Vizcaya station and along US1. The lighting installation will not only beautify with a short-term but well planned lighting art installation, it will also spotlight what all of the area under Metrorail could look like if lit at night, one of the many goals of Friends of the Greenlink.
Greenlights will light up and showcase Miami's Metrorail at Vizcaya station with a one-week, high impact, high touch lighting installation.
Miami lacks transit infrastructure and needs to boost ridership. We also lack biking and pedestrian infrastructure, so residents don't typically walk or bike to work, we are a car-centric community. The Greenlink is an initiative to transform the underutilized land under Metrorail into a dedicated, off-road bike/ped path and linear park. Greenlights showcases transit and demonstrates the possibilities of the future vision of Greenlink.
