why we're doing it

The Greater Cincinnati Voter Collaborative (GCVC) formed in the spring of 2020 out of necessity to help voters navigate the changing dynamics and ambiguity of voting in the general election during COVID-19. Beginning with a core group of civic organizations dedicated to making voter engagement more accessible and equitable, GCVC worked to break down Cincinnati’s silos, ultimately building a collaborative of organizations that amplify reliable and impactful nonpartisan voter resources and engagement opportunities throughout the region.

As the first-of-its-kind voter collaborative in Greater Cincinnati, GCVC works to grow a powerful, grassroots coalition of individuals and community partners who together:

  • host voter education, training, and outreach events
  • engage neighbors in year-round voter registration efforts
  • organize a volunteer-driven rides-to-the-polls initiative
  • maintain an online, comprehensive voter resource
  • participate in bi-weekly meetings with civic leaders and election officials

These activities are led by volunteers and backed by local civic organizations with the goal of bolstering civic engagement, which in turn helps us preserve the fabric of our democracy.

GCVC envisions a community with universal voter registration and 100 percent voter participation in which multigenerational voters are educated and empowered to improve their civic health, respect inclusive democracy, and promote the common good. The collaborative is incredibly thankful to the organizations and volunteer civic ambassadors who have already joined us on our journey to work toward this vision. We invite you to learn more, connect with us, and consider a gift that is meaningful to you.

Building off the successes of 2020 and 2021, GCVC looks to continue elevating the need for robust voter participation and adding collective value to a much-needed sustainable civic and electoral engagement infrastructure in Cincinnati.
