Impact areas
HubHotel is a safe place for homeless women to heal, stabilize, and find success while having access to a variety of resources to help them overcome the trauma of homelessness. Often, our guests have experienced severe emotional, physical, and sexual abuse by intimate partners or while on the streets. Because of this, it’s important for the staff and building to be as Trauma Informed as possible to reduce the risks of retraumatization.
HubHotel is seeking funding to build a fence around the building in order to promote the feeling of safety and security, reduce the foot traffic on our property, and encourage the guests to feel more comfortable outdoors in our green spaces. With a designated area, our guests can relax, be in nature, and enjoy time as a community of healing women.
Once funding has been secured, we will work towards building a Trauma-Informed fence around the perimeter of the front yard. Our goal is to set aside green spaces in the front yard that promote healing and self-reflection. We will be creating a garden space and a sitting area.
With this new space available, our guests at HubHotel can feel comfortable and at home, indoors and outdoors. HubHotel clients who've experienced abuse and trauma can feel safe without the risk of retraumatization. Our guests can be present and in the moment while seeking spiritual and emotional alignment. Lastly, the space can promote a sense of community by allowing us to gather, grow, and heal together.
