The Garfield Community Action team is a group of resident leaders raising money to ensure our neighbors in one of Pittsburgh's most historically overlooked communities can stay in their homes and be connected to education and jobs.
With rapid development happening throughout Pittsburgh's East End, the fear of displacement is real for many long-time Garfield renters and homeowners.
For our younger neighbors, the challenges brought on by the pandemic have created new barriers for learning and getting to school, and the need to support our kids with technology and mentoring is ever further amplified.
Your gift to this campaign will directly impact the low-income, elderly, and youngest residents of our community who need it the most.
These funds will help continue services that already exsist and have seen increased usage during the pandemic.
Funds will be raised by community volunteers with the Garfield Community Action Team.
Funds will be Released to the BGC as fiscal sponsor. BGC will use to administer these services.

It is necessary! People are struggling during these uncertain times. The BGC has a 45 year history of working for physical improvements, greater economic opportunity, and a strengthened sense of well-being for all our neighbors. The past months have proven the need of community based support more than ever! Access to housing, food, education, and employment are the basic requirements that our community needs to be successful and with your help we can help close the gap and provide these programs.
