Girls Inspiring Change

Gangs. Violence. Abuse. Poverty. These are just some of the things that inner-city girls around the country have to deal with. On top of that, because most inner-city girls are Black and Brown, they also are affected by racial and sexist stigmas.  

If this was something that you faced almost every day, on top of dealing with the natural struggles of growing up, how would it affect you? Wouldn’t it take a toll on your self-confidence? Self-value? Self-love?  

It’s time to silence the PROBLEMS and work on the SOLUTIONS.

Girls Inspiring Change is a ground-breaking organization that works to instill inner-city girls with an unconditional and unshakable self-love that will allow them to stand strong in front of any obstacles, and encourage them to be agents of change in their communities.

We help girls to focus on self-improvement because change starts with them. The tools that they will receive from us will not only help them to improve their lives now, but will be tools they can carry to improve the rest of their lives. They also focus on building sisterhood, the issues plaguing their communities, and what they can do to solve them.

We are currently working with 9 amazing girls in South Florida, helping them to build their confidence, leadership skills, and find their voices in a world that tries to shut them out. They have engaged in putting together fundraisers, designing posters, organizing community service activities, and workshops for other girls in their community. 

- Organize monthly community service projects for our girls

- Organize monthly workshops for girls in the community to further our cause

- Develop products that will promote our cause and allow us to fundraise

- Attend community events to network, promote our cause and products

- Organize large events that will impact a large number of mothers and daughters in our community

- Develop curriculum surrounding our cause to implement in schools and community centers.

There is a quote that says the world is in the condition it is in today because of the mistreatment of the female. The female is the vessel through which new generations come about, and if she is mistreated, misused and abused, then how do we think our children will come out? It’s time to break the cycle and help our girls to see the value in themselves, walk as if they know their value, and treat themselves accordingly. Once she knows her value, then she will not allow a man or anyone to treat her any kind of way. The abuse and the violence will stop. Once the female is transformed, all else will follow.
