Hi! We are Girls II Women, a group of middle school girls in Cleveland who aim to do our part in changing and empowering our community. With this money, we hope to do one thing: show those experiencing homeless in our community that we care and that they matter.
We want to make 50 backpacks full of items such as blankets, chapstick, lotion, feminine products, hair brushes and more!
Feb 1 - March 9: We will raise money for the items we need.
March 16: We will go shopping to get the items to complete all 50 backpacks.
March 23: We will distribute the backpacks to our local homeless shelter.
According to an article from WKYC written in October 2023, homelessness in Cleveland is increasing at a concerning rate. Our girls, and the founders Ms. Lee and Mrs. Robinson, work and live in communities where we see first hand how hard homelessness can hit those around us. As leaders of young ladies, we want to show them how important it is to give back to those in need. This is our city and our community, we should take pride in uplifting those around us.
