Girl Scout Gold for Sheriff Office

My Goal is buying a fully equipped DARE pick up truck including the graphics on the vehicle.  It represents those men and women that are willing to give their lives for the peace and harmony of the community they serve.

Benefiting from my Girl Scout Gold award will be the schools, located in Auglaize County, which is our future generations.  Deputy Karner, D.A.R.E. Officer, provides students from Kindergarteners to High School with the skills necessary to recognize and resist pressures to experiment with drugs and to avoid gangs and violence.  Lessons emphasize self-esteem, decision making, interpersonal communication skills and the consequences of drug abuse, conflict resolution and positive alternatives to substance abuse. The second purpose is to serve the 14 townships covering 405 square miles and estimated population of 46,000 people.

I am setting up a T-shirt and Hat fundraiser through a local clothing shop in Auglaize County to raise funds.

I am also selling sponsorship spots for the hats, shirts and the DARE vehicle itself.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award and stands for excellence in leadership. I am striving to make a difference in our community and beyond.  My goal is to positively affect our community which I am passionate about, and to make a change for the greater good.

I reached out to the Sheriff  since we live in the rural area and found they do not have body cameras to protect the Deputies. In the last 8 months they applied for a body camera  grant and received it.  The next item the Sheriff's Office’s need is a Pick up Truck for the D.A.R.E program and community policing.
