Our Mission at Garden of Life and Health Community Gardeners group is to improve the community physically by growing local food together, socially by creating educational events for kids, adolescents, adults and seniors and economically by providing low-cost healthy food for anyone.
Garden of Life and Health Farmers Market will be operating at 157th Melrose Ave for 2015 growing season: Monday – Thursday 2pm to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
the steps
Garden of Life and Health will be the second year with a Farmer’s Market. Last year was small but successful, and this year we will teach the youth hands on how to operate a farmers market as well as marketing and selling organic produce to the public. We will like to build a chicken coop so we can also have organic eggs for our farmers Market.
why we're doing it
With this program we will be able to reach low-economic clients who need to have access to fresh organic produce for themselves and their children. Students will also learn basic accounting and inventory skills, and processing orders with farmers Market.
