the project
MINC believes our community can grow, as the next generation, and we want to take part in that growth. The idea is to start a small garden of herbs and flowers to help alleviate stress and push the feeling of a community, encouraging people to make a greener Memphis, a more sustainable Memphis.
the steps
The Garden @ 720 N. Willett will be built in four stages, as funds are raised. Currently we have secured the site from funds already received.
The next three stages are:
1. Prepare the Grounds
2. Install water line and fencing
3. Host a community event
Each stage will be completed as funds allow.
why we're doing it
The neighbors in the community all possess different experiences, skills and personalities.Community gardens nurture vital intergenerational skill-sharing. Living in such a open, natural place we feel it is important to have a community garden where all can participate in growing fresh flowers, produce, herbs, etc.
