About the project
With hundreds of thousands of fires and medical runs each year, our firefighters spend long days away from their families and homes to protect and render aid to the citizens of Detroit. These men and women are some of the toughest, yet most caring, firefighters in the nation, operating on humble salaries out of pure dedication to the job and the communities they have sworn to serve.
Fully Involved Detroit, started by a passionate group of partners of Detroit firefighters, aims to take a two-pronged approach to support both the brave men and women of DFD and the communities in which they serve. Your generous tax-deductible donations will allow us to offer micro-grants to firefighters looking to start their own businesses; make improvements to their firehouses; provide financial and logistics support to fire families grappling with serious illness, injury, or other hardships; create a book donation drive and mailing program for Detroit children; and provide financial and logistics support to Detroit families who have lost homes or possessions to fire. Thank you in advance for helping us support Detroit Fire and Detroit communities!

Why we‘re doing it
They deliver your babies, and we rejoice with them when they get home in the morning. They save your child or your elderly parent who was overcome by smoke, and we revel in their pride on a job well done and thank God for the lives saved. They lose a patient or clean up a horrific accident scene, and we pray with them, comfort them and feel their sadness or disappointment. They run bravely into your neighbor's burning home and knock down the fire threatening yours, and we share their excitement and breathe a sigh of relief that they made it home safe.
We are a group of six women who proudly support our Detroit firefighters and wanted a way to give back to them and the citizens they serve every day. It truly takes a village, and we are honored to be a part of that village.
