About the project
I am trying to raise money for a basketball tournament to bring the different neighborhoods together and stop the violence and killing that goes on each and every day. Basketball is a common ground where I come from and I would love to be the person that brings joy and hapiness to the city. Throughout the pandemic all of the gyms have been closed leaving people nothing to do besides find the wrong thing to do. I think we are well deserving of something fun in the inner city. I work in the community everyday and I see how basketball brings everyone together no matter the race or age. I just want to make people forget about the struggle for a few hours and have a good time.
The Steps
04/02/2021 (secure gym rental)
(get covid ppe)
(get team jerseys)
05/19/2021 (get food for event)
Why we‘re doing it
I am having this basketball tournament to bring people in my city together. So we can stop the violence and hate for people that we don't even know. Everyone loves basketball. I want to bring people together in a safe socially distanced manner and have a good time and hoop.
The pandemic interrupted a lot for people in my neighborhood and I just want folks to have a way to gather safely and play.
