the project
In 2014, a small group of neighbors campaigned to plant a rain garden in a neglected city lot. In Spring 2015, Evergreen Rain Garden was planted! And grew to become a source of neighborhood pride and delight.
In 2016, we want to grow our native species butterfly and bee garden footprint even larger through the addition of one crowd-resourced (and one matched) garden bed.
the steps
Funds will be used for tilling and amending soil, purchasing and mulching plants – and a sign to acknowledge and honor our donors and supporters.
Planting is scheduled to be completed by May 1st.
why we're doing it
Expansion of Evergreen Rain Gardens beautifies a neglected city lot, provides habitat and food for butterflies and bees, and raises awareness of attractive greenscaping options for stormwater management.
