the project

We have found two new locations for community gardens in the Town of Enfield, CT!  One will be located at the Central Library on Middle Road and the other will be located on 2 Chapel Street in downtown Thompsonville.  Our existing community garden on Main Street has 30 plots and has been so successful that there is a waiting list every year. The 2 new community gardens will allow more residents to be able to have their own plot of land!

The Town of Enfield, in collaboration with Sustainable CT, aims to promote economic well-being while respecting our natural environment.  Through the Community Match Fund, Enfield will be able to receive up to 50% funding for our Community Garden Project.  This will help purchase the wood, fencing, locks, sheds, compost, supplies, plants/seeds, water (piping), recycle bins, signage and bench  needed to build the two gardens, as well as obtain a master gardener instructor.
