About the project

The Town of Enfield Development Services is pleased to announce the launch of the 2020 Enfield Community Gardens!

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Enfield wanted to give our residents something to look forward to during the Summer of 2020. At the April 15, 2020 Special Town Council meeting, the Council voted to create and fund the construction of 2 new Community Gardens. The 2 new gardens will allow many more residents to be able to have their own plot of land. We hope that this will bring the community together in a meaningful way, especially following the pandemic.

As a result of this exciting news, we now have three different community gardens throughout town for our residents to choose from.

  • Thompsonville Community Garden, Main Street
  • Lamagna Community Garden, 2 Chapel Street
  • Enfield Library Community Garden, 104 Middle Road

In total, these community gardens will provide 90 plots of garden space!

The Town has demonstrated its commitment to this project by funding the 2 new gardens. Now we are looking for your help for the ongoing support and maintenance of our 60 new garden plots.  The Town of Enfield, in collaboration with Sustainable CT, aims to promote economic well-being while respecting our natural environment.  Through the Community Match Fund, Enfield will be able to receive up to 50% funding for our Community Garden Project.  The funds donated to this account will assist the Town in purchasing necessary supplies which will help with the ongoing maintenance of the 2 new community gardens. Sustainable CT will match the funds!
