the project

The Elyria Farmers Market will take place on Saturdays starting on June 25th 2022 through September 10th 2022 between 9am and 1pm. In addition to selling produce and other locally sourced items, we offer special events such as kids day. This year we hope to partner with MHARS to host a chalk walk that raises awareness about mental health. With this fundraiser we hope to cover costs for marketing and advertising to reach further into the community, as well as equipment expenses.

the steps

1. Purchase needed equipment

2. Obtain marketing/advertising

3. Line up vendors

4. Spread the word to downtown businesses

5. Host the market (12 Saturdays)

why we're doing it

The purpose of the market is to attract Lorain county residents to visit Downtown in support of small businesses and local produce/artisan craft vendors. Our Kids Day Event will provide entertainment, activities, lunch and a "Swag" bag for 125 kids. The City of Elyria Free Bike Giveaway will be an additional feature this year and there will be a Chalk Walk for the first time this season. The market is a fun event that brings the community together and adds opportunity to connect/reconnect residents.

So we are at about 25% of our goal and still desperately need donations to successfully provide the Kids Day event and other costs. With 23 days to go, please consider donating to our need. Share to anyone you may know that would like to help us achieve our goal. Thank you in advance.
