About the project
This year’s Earth Day New York events will feature an Earth Day 50th anniversary countdown art installation, where artists will create live works of art on site during the event around various environmental themes. The art installation will promote our action center, which will
- empower attendees to take simple actions to make a positive impact on the environment and
- allow attendees to share their own sustainability stories of environmental solutions they see or want to in their own lives and communities.
The Steps
We are working with young artists in the city in the lead-up to the event to have them create live art on site at the event on April 23. We will provide everything the artists need to create engaging pieces of art around environmental themes to capture the public's imagination and empower them to take concrete and impactful environmental actions in their own lives.
Why we‘re doing it
We see so much demand from the public for simple thigns people can do to move things in a positive direction when it comes to the world's environmental challenges. People want to take action but are overwhelmed by the problems and don't know where to start. We are using the 50th anniversary of Earth Day as a tool to empower people to make those changes and take those actions in their lives that will move things in a positive direction. It's a critical time for people to move to a more sustainable future and we're aiming to empower peopel to be a part of those solutions.
