Doors for Justice will unite the Westwood neighborhood of Cincinnati to stand in solidarity with our neighbors for racial justice, one door at a time.
Doors for Justice is a COVID safe way for neighbors in Westwood to show their support for racial justice. Until more neighbors are vaccinated and COVID rates decline, we know that many people support the movement for racial justice but may not feel comfortable gathering in person to demonstrate in support of this important liberation work. Doors For Justice will use artistic expression to encourage neighbors to create messages of support, education and liberation in relation to racial justice. Our plan to is start in Cincinnati's largest neighborhood and then to expand our work and train other neighborhoods in our method. We plan to make this project accessible to as many neighbors as possible and will have FREE supplies available. Themes will be shared with neighbors and then doors will be photographed through out the project and shared through social media platforms.
Our group has been meeting since November of 2020 to dream and plan Doors for Justice. When our project is funded, this is our timeline:
June-July- Promote Doors for Justice
July-December:
Doors for Justice is an organization whose mission is to unite people with a passion for racial justice for all people regardless of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Doors for Justice uses artistic expression to inspire people to actively work together to fulfill the yet unfulfilled promise of fair and equitable justice for all. We believe our differences are worth learning about, understanding, and celebrating and that our societal systems, including our criminal justice system, should reflect the intrinsic value of each unique person to pursue their dreams without fear. We seek to demonstrate our respect and value for the stories and lives of those whose voices have not been heard through visible and practical demonstrations of love and support which models solidarity and unity throughout our communities.
