About the project
We are supporting Detroiters experiencing homelessness who are affected by COVID-19. By making a donation, you will be providing critical supplies to our vulnerable neighbors that are impacted COVID-19.
People experiencing homelessness are particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. Your donations will go to support the coordinated response that is underway to ensure that people experiencing homelessness who are symptomatic, awaiting results or test positive receive essential services and can shelter at alternative sites to prevent the spread of the disease.
Funds raised will be used to purchase PPE, cleaning supplies, hygiene items and, food & beverage, and activities/items to support mental health. You may also directly purchase supplies to donate at our amazon wishlist.
The Steps
The NOAH Project will manage donations, purchase supplies with funds raised, and coordinate distribution of supplies to the new alternative shelters that have been set up to serve people experiencing homelessness directly affected by COVID-19.
Supplies will distributed as quickly as possible to support the services to those in need.
Why we‘re doing it
The COVID-19 crisis has had a devastating impact in Detroit. People experiencing homelessness are particularly vulnerable to contracting the disease and to experiencing more negative health outcomes. We believe that is imperative to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among this population to save lives and to prevent further spread in the community.
