Design Week Sacramento
Design Week Sacramento is a weeklong celebration of Sacramento's creative community. We are looking for funding so we can make all of our events free to our attendees.

About the project
In 2019, we launched Sacramento's first Design Week with the desire to build a design community in our region. During our inaugural event, we were repeatedly told by local designers how much this was needed, and were asked how they could get access to our events and resources after Design Week. So, we decided to build a nonprofit that would allow us to build programs and share resources throughout the year. While we have grown, Design Week remains our keystone program and we are thrilled to host it for our fourth year.
The Steps
Thank you to their generosity, The Urban Hive will serve as our venue sponsor and main Headquarters for the event. We will work with local businesses to secure event equipment, security and food and beverages (when applicable) for our events. We are also working with local creatives for our photo/video needs. We are hoping to also make our events as accessible as possible, and will work with ASL interpreters and implement other accessible accommodations for our events.
Why we‘re doing it
Our mission for Design Week Sacramento is to celebrate the creative community in our region. In building our community, we have noticed that there is still a diversity problem, and that a lot of the communities that live and work in Sacramento are not being represented in our creative workforce. We hope that by creating more awareness of the different local careers in our field, we will make our field more accessible to all, and will close the diversity gap.
