The Creative Healing Foundation Phase one Program

the project

This will be phase one of our in-classroom learning courses and spring fundraiser event. What we are hoping for is to raise enough funds for our summer operating costs. With our annual fundraising fish fry we are hoping to earn the funds that will get us into, if not through our summer program for 2024. Our Spring budget is $15,100.00, this is what it will take for phase one to be successful. $3000.00, will go towards the operations cost of the fundraiser, which will have two days of operations on the calendar at two locations. The first will be from our home location and it will be pre-orders only. The second will be at a location in the community this will be pre-orders as well and advertised as a drive thru artsy experience. Funds earned from these events will go towards the next quarter's operational budget of $7,800.00 for spring classes teaching photography and videography, $6000.00 for holding a public event that will show case the work of The Creative Healing Foundation and students.

the steps

  • Once funds are received, we will begin operations on our fundraiser; to include but not limited to checking equipment and marketing with a set date of operations on the calendar. Those dates being tentative as of today are March 17, 2023 and April 7, 2023, with an alternate weather day being April 14, 2023. Inventory, supplies and material will be purchased and preparations will begin.
  • The second event will be the launching and advertising for our spring classes, with our first class set to start on April 20, 2023, running for 8 weeks ending June 1, 2023.  Our community event that will showcase the work of “The Creative Healing Foundation” and its students, will be held on June 3, 2023. The cycle then repeats itself with summer classes beginning on June 21, 2023 and ending on August 30, 2023. We will then break for the month of September in preparation for our fall showcase, showcasing all of the participants that have benefitted from “The Creative Healing Foundation”.
  • The year 2023 is set to end with “The Creative Healing Foundation” fundraising holiday party to raise funds for Spring 2024.

why we're doing it

Growing up in the community I was able to benefit from the art of photography. I was reintroduced to my love of photography after my retirement from the military. Photography has proven to be an instrumental tool in helping me learn to cope with my own mental health issues. Once I began sharing what I learned with others, they also were able to benefit from the use of cameras as a therapy. Together my friends and I have found that when teaching photography, it not only continues to help us, it has also allowed us to help and teach others that have chosen to pick up a camera and follow. From learning, to healing, to creating, this is the path that we would like to share.

The Creative Healing Foundation Phase one Program

The Creative Healing Foundation

We are a non-profit organization working in the community to help those with mental health issues find productive methods of coping and possibly overcoming some of those issues by using art as a platform. Art is for everyone; age has no boundaries. Come discover Cleveland with us with our many excursions throughout the city, get an opportunity to see the city through the eyes of the photographer, come along and explore with us during these unique excursions that we offer during, the "blue hour", the “golden hour" and street photography guided tours. We not only focus on basic camera knowledge giving you a hands-on experience; we also would like you to open your eyes to an artistic experience with us.
