the project

Closing the "Black-White and Urban-Rural divides in perception of fairness" Gap.The gap in perceptions between urban and rural residents is widest when it comes to the treatment of blacks in the criminal justice system. Half of all urbanites say blacks are treated less fairly than whites in dealing with the police, compared with just 30% of rural residents. (According to The Pew Research Center)

the steps

  • Recruit Attendees
  • Establish Panel/Facilitators
  • Create Calendar
  • Secure Venue
  • Acquire Vendors/Sponsors

why we're doing it

We wish to see young men of color able to live through random traffic stops and citizens who break the law, have their day in court. We believe that this will reduce tension and anxiety between residents and law enforcement, and begin to curb similar gaps that are emerging in the courts.
