Community Clean Up (C.C.UP)

This project will turn a vacant lot into a community clean up garden and educational space. It will be like a small park for the neighboring communities, especially for youth. We will grow vegetables and flowers, put on community events such as plays, movie nights, fashion shows, and whatever else the community wants! We would like to invite speakers to educate people on a variety of different topics. It will also be a space to give back food, clothing, and other things to the community. It will be a safe haven for everybody, a place where people can just come and be in peace. We want to make a better Niagara Falls! 

We start with going door to door for neighborhood support. We will also be making ourselves heard in City Hall and throughout the city to gather more support for the project. With funds available, we will first clean up the space and the surrounding neighborhood. We will plant new vegetables and flowers that the community will have access to. We'll also make the space accessible to the community with seating and pathways, etc. We will document our progress on Facebook. Once the garden space is available, we would also like to add many events going forward such as movie nights and educational lectures. We would advertise these throughout the neighborhood and city. 

I want to do this because I believe we are the only the ones that can help ourselves. There is a need for healthier spaces and youth activities in the community, and we can come together to build it. This project is giving the youth who have nothing to do something educational and healthy! It will get the community back in touch with our roots and connected to the land.
