the project
Why this project? Why "Community Brunch?" There are 2 reasons. The first one is that statistics informs us that the South Memphis community, 38126 and 38106 is not only the poorest parts of Shelby County, it also has the highest poverty rate. This will be at least one meal that the community would be able to depend on monthly. And secondly, because of the difficulties of not just COVID but life itself, we need community engagement. A place where eventually as the song goes, "Everybody will know your name!"
the steps
1. Purchase equipment and items listed.
2. Marketing, canvasing the neighborhood.
3. Preparing for the event which will be the 2nd Saturday in every month at 1pm on the parking lot.
why we're doing it
Simply stated, "We need each other to Survive!" This event will bring the community together for a meal and conversation.
