About the project
This is my second movie, book and music entertainment project under my creation trilogy called "Common Creed".I wanted to show the people of the community the issue at hand which is human trafficking. The Common Creed: Trafficking project will inform, educate and bring awareness to people who don't know anything about human trafficking within the African American community.
Through entertainment it provides an outlet to showcase various different ways to inform people about what is really happening locally and everywhere in the world. The main focus of this project is to get more solutions and programs needed for women and children who are victims of human trafficking. We will do so with the movie playing in theaters showing once a week at a specific time and day of the week for two months. Then after the movie showing we will have a guest speaker who has knowledge and awareness of human trafficking to have a Q&A and discussion.
The Steps
1.Reserve eight movie showings of Common Creed:Trafficking at a movie theater (dates & times)
2.Purchase the Common Creed: Trafficking books and music album download cards
(book will have education of human trafficking & music download card will have hotline, facts and information printed on it as a bookmark)
3.Purchase posters, fliers, tickets and signage to help promote the events
4. Hire a publicist and marketing manager to promote the project
5.Pay the guest speakers and panelists
6.Set up social media pages to make a calender for the event
7.Pay for a videographer to get film of the event to list on the website and social media
8. October 6, 2021 premiere the first movie showing of Common Creed: Trafficking
9.Hand out awards for people's appreciation for coming out to the event.
10. Tell everyone who attends to take a photo of the book and use the hashtag #CCHT to post on social media to support the cause
11. Give the Women crisis center a donation of 10% of the funds raised overall for the project
Why we‘re doing it
The project will meet the critical needs of those who are seeking help and hope. The resources and donations will help house over 140 women and children seeking safety and searching for opportunities and hope.
The United states is currently the world's second largest destination country for women and children trafficked into the industry. The most vulnerable victims of human trafficking are homeless women and children. The average age of entry into human trafficking and prosititution in the United States is just 13 years old. We believe by addressing the issue we can help decrease the percentage of human trafficking just by the awareness and information alone. Assist us with this project that is being overlooked in the African Amercian communities.
