About the project

Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present, and Future is a non-profit dedicated to helping local musicians in the Greater Cleveland area, preserving the history of our music scene, and to improving the economic outlook for the entire local music industry.  To this end, we have started a Music Incubator Program, directly supporting several artists with music projects, networking, and professional development.  This campaign will allow us to showcase this diverse group of artists to audiences in our community and beyond.

Our plan involves presenting each artist/band we are working with at a live concert, free to the community.  We plan on expanding the artists' reach by live-streaming the concerts and making them accessible to all audiences via the internet, and by recording audio and video of the performances and distributing them later.  This will provide the greatest accessibility to the public and create avenues for greater reach for the artists.  We achieve two goals at once by making our presentations more accessible while simultaneously helping the artist develop their audience.  The artists will also have high quality recordings and videos for their websites, social media, and streaming services.

We have budgeted for the production of 7 music performances, audio and video recording, and post-production and finalizing of content.  The artists participating are Corry Michaels, Jenna Fournier/Kid Tigrrr, Apostle Jones, Wave Rowanne, Clare Feorene, Thor Platter, and Maura Rogers & The Bellows.

The Steps

Timeline will include: Working with Incubator artists from Fall 2023 into Spring of 2024 on marketing and planning, Then scheduling and promoting concerts early in the year of 2024. Events will take place May-September - Present, livestream and record concert

Why we‘re doing it

Our organization is dedicated to improving the outlook for the entire local/regional music scene, which includes the diverse array of artists trying to make a living in our area.  This project was designed to give a boost to seven artists who we have seen working on their craft, developing new content, engaging with their audience, and maybe most importantly, we saw them supporting other artists and initiatives in the music scene.  These artists go to other artists shows to support them, they advocate online, they attend workshops and other events for professional development, and they make a difference.  They each have unique and individual stories to tell and we are doing this project to help them tell their stories and reach audiences in Cleveland and beyond.
