PS 29 is rebuilding and reopening its Children's Garden in the school yard. The Garden was started 7 years ago and celebrated by Mayor Bloomberg as one of the first in NY.  It was closed for the last two years because of the school building renovation. It will re-open in May and the front garden will be built at that time as a small permaculture space.  The PTA has started the work on plannning, designing and fundraising for a green roof as well.  In the Children's Garden, there will be a Master Compost area for parents to use as a repository. It will be managed by a certified master composter and teachers and their class.
