the project

We are purchasing land and enacting a plan. This is a neighborhood that I have lived and worked in since 1993 so many memories of being here and experiencing it 2 completely different environments 1st being the neighborhood where we lived, where my friends lived, played, and yes even fought in to now as a raising my family and working the land to make magic happen in abandoned dreams. We plan on putting a production flower farm right in the hood.

But this is work we are already doing, we know that this fundraising will only serve to enhance this work by making things like available that aren't within our budget.

the steps

  1. Host trash and debris removal in area
  2. Purchase Land
  3. Get tractor work done on lots
  4. Plant out the acre with flowers and fruit trees

why we're doing it

This place was dreams stole, homes, communities, and families that once stood vibrant now a distant memory violently erased through the systems that have plagued too many of our communities of community divestment, economic collapse and drugs and all of the other culprits of demise.

But our story is one of community that remains, the children that have life altering moments in reclaimed nature sanctuaries. By the neighbor that walks by everyday on her way from the bus line and takes that extra moment of joy watching the butterflies. Or the kid learning to compost when he originally just came by to make a quick buck completing a task.

We are the community that lives here, we have seen the real changes an idea with action has on the lives of those that interact with us everyday.

Securing these funds will be foundational in making sure the progress that we have on the land is NEVER taken from us in any scheme that profiteers see when we take power back in our lives. This will legitimize us in the eyes of the law. As currently we operate on space that everyone has forgot. Especially city services!
