About the project
Kayvon Coolbeanz is a nonprofit dedicated to assisting urban children who are one "cool bean" in the world of Autism. We have been dedicated to this goal since 2019. We are currently planning a brunch event for families of children with Autism. Many families with children or family members with Autism, they have a hard time having time for themselves for self-care, interaction with other families, and parental support. The success of our organization and our outreach is dependent entirely upon the financial and product support of corporations and private sponsors. We have been fortunate in the past to have the support of other organizations like yours and we are hopeful that this year will be no exception.
Our ultimate goal is to have a center located in the city of Cleveland that will provide tutoring, cooking classes, field trips, transportation services, and other activities. There will also be a support group for the parents. However, the Brunch and Games event will help fundraise in our efforts to purchase Christmas gifts for children on the autism spectrum.
The Steps
We will have to go grocery shopping for the food items, paper products, games and decor. We have to pay the deposit for the DJ and Live entertainment.
Why we‘re doing it
We are fundraising to supply youth on the autism spectrum with a nice Christmas. The event will bring awareness to community members about Autism and the supports that families like mine need. We are hoping to be able to use the event to raise awareness as well as give kids and their families a Merry Christmas!
We are passionate about bringing more awareness and resources for families who have children on the Autism spectrum in the inner city of Cleveland. My youngest son was diagnosed with Autism three(3) years ago and I had to drive 15 miles to the Autism Center in Rocky River so he could receive the services he needed. I know first hand how important early intervention is for a child. We are in need of an Autism center in the heart of the inner city so parents and children can have local access to a safe resource center that will provide them with speech, physical and occupational therapy.
