the project

The mission of BrickHouse Wellness is to educate, and empower women, youth, and men in all areas of fitness, healthy foods, and literacy, to build a stronger foundation inside and out like a BrickHouse. I started BrickHouse Wellness to help build self esteem and empower women and youth to live healther lifestyles, with healthy food access, fitness programs and to provide other resources that are needed for mental support as well as literacy programs for youth.

Help us find a brick and mortar location to host our fitness and nutrition classes for the community!

the steps

Sign a 3 month lease for a store front in Hough

Host a zumbathon kickoff party!

why we're doing it

I am doing this for my community that I grew up in. I see the health and literacy disparities in the youth, young adults and seniors. My passion is to serve and I provide the motivation and passion to help raise awareness and education to young and old.

Hough, Glenville, Fairfax, and Central among other low income communites are surrounded by food deserts and poor health, which includes obesity, literacy problems, drugs and alcohol, as well as mental and esteem issues. Building the community takes residents who live and work in these areas to bring awareness, education and other resources to enhance the neighborhoods. Gentrifcation is not the answer.
