About the project

We NEED your help...

Please support the Junior Ironmen Wrestling Program.  We are the ONLY Youth Wrestling Program in the City of Cleveland that focuses on developing inner city youth.

The great question all service programs hope to answer is "How do we teach youth to break the cycle and take control of their life?" At Junior Ironmen Wrestling we have found the answer by having a life changing mentor guide the youth from adolescence into high school and college.  Our program is about anything but wrestling. Wrestling is merely a tool to establish a common bound so we can teach life skills such as: punctuality, manners, perseverance, excellence, body language, handling disappointment, honesty, service, compassion and teamwork. We start young people in our program as early as possible as a prevention tool and to prepare them for greatness.

The mission of Junior Ironmen Wrestling is to build community by giving young people the skills to improve themselves and their community. Our focus is on serving underrepresented youth, but we welcome any person. Our program is designed to offer every person a chance to belong, learn and give. We serve over 100 youth annually and above all else work hard to simply keep kids involved. Parent testimonials and stories of our commitment and success are plentiful.

Any contribution can make a significant impact.

Why we‘re doing it

Our program is not a quick fix, we spend years working with each youth, going through the stormy beginnings to earn their trust then change their views. We teach youths to be self-motivated not just do things because they have to and this takes a little longer. Because of the tremendous effort necessary to get youths engaged on the right track we do not take breaks, we are always open; the youths are truly a part of the mentor’s family and the mentors are always available.
