the project

I believe our community can grow, as the next generation, I want to take part in that growth.  The idea is to start a small garden of herbs and flowers to help alleviate stress and push the feeling of a community, encouraging people to make a greener NYCHA, a more sustainable NYCHA.   There is no access to sustainable choices or opportunities for a sustainable lifestyle. If we want a greener city, we need to start with a sustainable NYCHA system.

the steps

Step 1: Secure an open lot of land on NYCHA

Step 2: Build community interest and acquire volunteers

Step 3: Build raised plant beds

Step 4: Plant seeds (flowers and herbs, or other plants insisted on by the community)

Step 5: Open to community for enjoyment!

why we're doing it

This project will provide a green space for NYCHA residents and inspire neighbors to live sustainably while promoting community ties.
