the project
We are honoring five Tuskegee Airmen from the Beltzhoover community that have families that still reside in the area. We as a community feel that when you do projects such as public art and murals, most of the time they should reflect your community. This is our first phase of doing our community based public arts projects. Once we raise our goal we will continue to spread our legacies throughout our neighborhood.
the steps
In Spring 2018 we will finalize the design and install the mosaic on a brick wall on a plot of land that our organization owns or in the gateway to McKinley Parks Tuskegee Trails. We are finalizing the site with community input to make sure its a good fit for all residents.
why we're doing it
A project designed to honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen of Beltzhoover and to highlight the heros of our collective history through public art.
