Panel forum was a success!

the project

Our story began with an intention to offer panel forums with the goal to bring together local artists who can share their experience, thoughts, expertise, and advice with the communities we serve through our Battle of the Teal art program. Local professional and aspiring artists see the value in keeping up with the industry trends and could use the forums as a creative outlet to toss around new ideas and perhaps forming new collaboration(s).

We also understand that there is a need to support our local community artists by providing them with the opportunities to earn their living while achieving their goals as professionals. The acknowledgment, respect, and hard work of practice needs to be rewarded and appreciated. The raised funds will be used towards providing panelists’ stipends.

After five years of growing our Battle of the Teal art program for K-12 students, we recognized the importance of bridging the junior and senior community of artists to inspire, mentor, and grow the ever-evolving art culture and keep it alive for the generations to come.

why we're doing it

After so many years of serving the kids we see the importance and the value that mentors, panelists and other art professionals bring to the table…they are professionals, they have their worth, their time is worth something, their passion is worth something and we want to show them how much we care. They are part of our community and this is our way to support them.

updates

Panel forum was a success!

The forum "Art as a viable profession" was held on June 18th, 2020 and it was a great success! We are grateful for the support of the panel partners, AIGA Cleveland, SPACES Gallery, Cleveland Institute of Art, Augusto Fine Arts, Wongface and of course our four panelists. We were able to offer stipends to all our panelists. The remaining funds that we have raised will give us a head-start and will be used towards our upcoming forurms that are in the works. We are planning to host at least two more panel forums this year. Additionally, our team is working on other virtual events, hosted in real time and/or pre-recorded, that will serve as educational tools for our program participants and the community at large. Special thanks to Proficient Pro, Inc., a local business consulting firm, serving Northeast Ohio artists and business owners for its continuous support and generous contribution. Also, thanks to Catherine McManus, a Cleveland artist, and Beverly Williams for their donations. Thank you to the forty-two forum participants for their testimonials, ideas and kind words, and  letting us know how much their valued what we have presented. We are happy that we were able to provide useful guidance and resources.

Thank you to ioby for believing in our idea and supporting the many valuable projects during this challenging time!

Online registration is available!

Hi everyone! Here is an update on how the campaign for our ‘Battle of the Teal program virtual art panel forums’ campaign is going. So far, we have hit $1,040 and we hope to reach our goal of $1,107 by the end of our campaign on June 22nd. Remember, each donation will help to pay for the stipends that our panelists require. Our panelists will help to further educate the community on the importance of the arts and arts education. We hope that everyone who donates will watch our panelists virtually and be able to learn from them! These panelists will be available to the community and the Battle of the Teal visual and performing art program participants. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to learn more about our campaign and we hope that you can help us meet our goal! Don’t forget to join us on June 18th https://www.eventbrite.com/e/art-as-a-viable-profession-tickets-106979777394
