About the project
Fine Art Miracles, Inc. has been serving our challenged community members since 2007, inspired by a special love for the elderly. We use art as the vehicle to reach out with love, brightening the days and the lives (prior to the pandemic) of 6,000+ people each year.
In the wake of Covid-19, our most vulnerable community members have been hit hard. Because they are so susceptible, the elderly have been forced to isolate, as the best means of protection from the virus. While we can no longer safely offer in-person services, we are committed to continuing to reach them through art. FAM's ART2GO packaged lessons are specifically designed with this in mind, including everything needed to complete an art project. Along with step-by-step guides and all the necessary supplies, we've taken care to include master artist biographies, examples of their work, and completed project examples to engage and inspire participants.
Now, our good friends at 412 Food Rescue would like to partner with us to deliver ART2GO packages with their regular food deliveries to low income elderly--nourishing both body and soul! Your donation will help us design and pack 100 lessons (or more!) and provide relief where independent elderly residents are sheltering. Will you help make this possible?
The Steps
- Design art lessons for the elderly population, accommodating various skill levels, in FAM's easy to implement format.
- Print lesson materials and purchase the appropriate art supplies to create "art-in-a-box" ART2GO packages.
- Coordinate with 412 Food Rescue to identify seniors self-isolating in Pittsburgh who are receiving food donations, to include an art lesson with their food delivery.
- Continue to serve these residents as funding will allow, with new lessons and materials, in order to support their overall health.
Why we‘re doing it
It's easy to overlook what we cannot see. Isolated seniors are a hidden issue--but their emotional, social, and cognitive well-being is now more important than ever! We're committed to keeping them engaged and mitigating the effects of their social isolation. Please help us to help them!
