the project

APNET is a 100% volunteer-run organization that organizes several events and programs each year.  We need your financial support to make AfriFest - Taste of Africa a success.

AfriFest Cincy: Taste of Africa will take place on July 29 from noon to 8pm and will activate Burnet Woods Park. AfriFest exists to celebrate Africa through cultural awareness, enhancing the community’s knowledge of the African cultures represented locally, and connecting individuals to resources in the community. AfriFest is a free public event showcasing African cultures, food, vendors, entertainment, fashion show, games, and other fun activities within Burnet Woods Park, an underutilized park near the University of Cincinnati.

why we're doing it

We volunteer with APNET as a way to give back to our communities. AfriFest will unite our community in a public city park in a new way.    AfriFest has goals to:

  • Activate and attract visitors to Burnet Woods Park and the surrounding area
  • Build awareness of the strength and contribution of African peoples within the Cincinnati region
  • Bring resources to our community
  • Strengthen relationships
  • Foster community pride
  • Teach people new things
  • Create awareness/market for local small businesses
  • Build brand awareness for companies and organizations

It takes a village (all of us) to make our communities better and we hope get your support for AfriFest 2023.
